Terms of use

Haalarikone is a free directory of student overall colours at Finnish universities and universities of applied sciences. You can browse and search by colour, field, institution, region, and student organisation. It is meant for informal use around student culture.

There is no registration. The service is provided as is, free of charge. The operator may change, suspend, or discontinue it.

Directory data comes from public sources and user reports. Overall colours, student organisations, and institution structures change. Information may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong.

Haalarikone is not an official register and does not represent institutions, student unions, or subject organisations. Do not treat it as the only source if a wrong colour or organisation could cause harm.

Report errors with the feedback form. We correct the dataset as we can, but we do not guarantee that every report leads to a change or that a change happens on a set timetable.

The site name, logo, design, and compiled directory belong to the operator unless otherwise marked. You may browse the site and share links to individual pages. Automated bulk copying, republishing the dataset as your own directory, or misleading use of the brand is not allowed without permission.

The source code is available under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0: https://github.com/valtterisa/student-overall-app. AGPL covers the software, not the Haalarikone name, logo, or visual design.

You can send corrections, ideas, and bug reports through the feedback form. Optional email is used only to reply.

By sending feedback you grant the operator the right to use its substance to correct the directory and improve the service. Do not send confidential, unlawful, or infringing material.

You may not use the service in a way that unreasonably overloads it, circumvents technical limits, spreads malware, sends spam, or attempts unauthorised access. The search API must not be used for automated bulk querying that harms other users.

The service is a free hobby project. To the extent mandatory law, including Finnish consumer protection law, does not require otherwise, it is provided without warranty of availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose.

The operator is not liable for damage arising from use of the data, service interruption, or third-party services (hosting, analytics, email, AI), except where the damage is caused by intent or gross negligence.

These terms are governed by Finnish law, excluding conflict-of-law rules.

As a consumer you may take a dispute to the Consumer Disputes Board (https://www.kuluttajariita.fi). Other disputes are resolved in Finnish courts.

We may update these terms when the service changes. The current version is on this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms. Material changes are marked with the date at the top.
